...no place like it.

08-08-2008

So, my concept of time is a lot out of kilter at the moment since I just walked in the door having spent the last five hours on an airplane with a few dozen screaming children. How I am not currently sitting in a cell pending charges of air rage is a mystery best left solved by the Gods. Anyway, the flight from the states to Ireland had timezone jumping galore and even though my computer is telling me one time my internal clock is still working on another.

Basically my head is even less wired than usual.

The really strange thing is, I am not in the least bit tired. I didn't get any shut eye on the flight at all, not that I tried all that hard, and considering the time I woke up in (around ten in the morning on Friday) my internal clock is reading that it is three in the morning even though in Ireland time it is really eight. This is going to be a long day.

On the plus side I got to watch a few movies on my iPod that I had loaded up before the holiday. Also the in flight movie (because it was one of the older Aer Fungus crafts that only had a few screen rather than ones in the headrest) was Iron Man so that wasn't too bad. Plus the really annoying French woman that was seated next to me moved just after take off to sit down the back, so I had the entire seat to myself giving me ample flake out room.

Plan of attack today is to get the washing done, try and get a status on the jester mobile, work a little on comedy and adjust to new situations.

One thing can always be said after travels, there is no place like the motherland.

I don't have extremely itchy feet when it comes to travel. I would grab the chance to work in another country, of that I am certain, but I am happy enough to just plod along in the current country as well.

Home is where you make it, not where you come from.

But if you have to deal with something, the motherland is always a nice place to be in. Something about the familiar surroundings that help clear out the mental junk.
