Simple Layer

18-01-2009

I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3 tonight, working on my brother's website. I have the drawings scanned in and want to just make them into vectors (resizeable images) for the site. But the uber complex program is annoying the hell out of me. In Inkscape I usually have three layers on an image. One for the outline, one for colour and one for shading. In CS3 I can't seem to repeat this process and it is doing my head in. This is THE commerical application that all serious graphic artists in the business use, yet I can't do a very basic thing.

W* if you are reading this help a Jester out will ya :)

In other news I am posting this here so I don't forget it later. If you have an iPod Touch that has a passcode on it and you can't remember the code and need to remove it do this.

1) Download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website.

2) Connect the iPod to your computer using the usb cable it comes with.

3) Hold the home button (the one in the middle of the device) and the lock button (up in the top left) until the device turns off and turns back on again.

4) When you see an Apple Logo on the iPod, release the top button and keep holding the other button. After a minute the screen should show a picture of a USB cable.

5) Now your computer should tell you it has found an iPod Touch that is in restore mode. Follow the instructions in

iTunes and away you go.

I won't go into the iTunes steps but they are fairly easy to follow. This process basically restores the iPod Touch to factory settings, meaning it wipes the device entirely.

Also works if you stole the iPod and have to clean it ;)
