Cyclists be warned

09-03-2009

Right, so, I used to be a cyclist. I was once one of those brave souls that would embark on a journey on the roads of country and risk life and limb with trucks, cars and vans not to mention buses. Bike lanes were a thing you hoped of but rarely got to see.

But I would obey the rules of the road, because that way I was ensured of living a little bit longer. Maybe even survive my trips.

Ever since getting behind the wheel of a car I have vowed to pay more attention to cyclists to help make their trips a little safer. Also because it would be awkward to explain why I had a mangled body in my car door.

However one thing that has always pissed me off is how the cyclists complain load and constantly about how road users don't obey the rules and don't pay attention to the bike users. Yet they seem to think the rules apply to the cars only.

NEWS FLASH DICKHEAD: If the light is red that applies to you as well as me.

Today on the road home I saw this arsehole on a bike trying to judge if he could weave between the traffic at a junction (breaking the red light that was on his lane). I have a simple rule about this sort of behaviour: even though I shouldn't, if the law is telling me to drive you are not going to make me slow down. So I kept going.

The fucker pulled right out into the junction and then stopped his bike dead centre in front of me because he couldn't go any further.

Queue much horn blowing from me.

And cursing from this prick.

I had swerved to avoid smashing into him but if he figured he had the right to hurl abuse at me when it was him that had broken the law then fuck you pal. So that is it, no more. If I know you and can recognise your bike I will pay attention, otherwise stay well fucking away from my car because I won't be swerving again.

I think in the battle of car versus push bike, car will come off a little better.

Also, she has been very good lately, but H has given us a chronicle. It's up at the usual location.
