Sore Head

10-09-2009

For some unknown bloody reason I have a really bad migraine today, one that started sometime last night. One that I can't seem to shift in the least. I have taken tablets, cooled down my head, had food, had loads of tea and water, nothing is working. To make matters worse I am in the office with this brain-pain and not working from home, where I could at least have a nap or ten to try and shift some of the pain away.

This is leading to some interesting stuff today though. Like earlier on I totally forgot a command that I run probably ten times a day in work. I just blanked on it entirely. I wasn't even able to muddle my way through it, it had just left my memories and gone away into the wind.

To be honest it was a little unsettling. I am counting down the minutes left until I can go home, fill the sink up with ice cold water, and just dunk my head for an hour or more.

Also, I am very impressed with the Nokia 5800 it has to be said. I have had it for a few weeks now but today it really became a useful little device. I follow a website, that I plan on linking to later on in the "Random" section, that posts a podcast every Wednesday. Something to listen to on a Thursday. Now, for some reason, my computer in work won't play mp3 files at all. However we do have wifi. So turn the wifi on the phone, go to the site, download the podcast to the memory card and away we go. Ten minutes later I am listening to it on the phone.

Geek like? You bet ya. Do I care? Not a bit of it.

A funny thing has happened this week as well. Anybody in work that has learned of my upcoming move to areas new and closer to work have all said the same thing: "Does this mean you won't be living with the crazy housemate anymore?". It would appear that the chronicles are a little more popular than even I thought they were. So the plan has been put in place to ensure that we get some sort of mad updates. Fear not Chronicle Readers, I will strive to entertain further.

Speaking of which I have a Comedy Gig coming up on Oct 1st at some new club starting up in Rathmines. More on that when I have the info myself.

I was going to have a serious element to this rant as well, about how Trade Unions in this country are the secret Government and need to learn that they have caused the money troubles as much as the bankers by demanding the same wages as the "private" sector. The "private" sector of course being one that doesn't exist since I work in the private sector and my wage is nowhere near what Trade Unions claim. But I think I will leave that for another rant when A) My head isn't so sore and B) I haven't ranted about three different topics already.
