Migraine Comedy

I have had a damn migraine for the last week solid without a day off. It hasn't been one of those ones that has me in bed insanely early, nor one of the ones that makes me want to talk to God on the big white phone for a few hours. It has just been one of those ones that sits right above my eye, causes some strange pain in my ear and makes thinking in straight lines an Olympic sport.

Of course the worst of it all is that I have a gig on tonight where I am meant to try out my contest material and I am not entirely sure I have the material in my skull yet. Plus, less than eight hours til gig time, I am still missing a good cold open. I have a few jokes that I could use but none that link into the material as a whole.

It's a damn pain in the arse. I am not shitting it or worried about performing. At this stage I have had bad gigs, good gigs, great gigs and dire gigs so I am not worried about dying on my arse tonight. If I die I die, if it goes alright it goes alright. At the end of the day it doesn't matter because you could have a rock solid gig written by Robin Williams back at his best and have an audience that just doesn't find the set funny.

Such is the nature of the beast.

But sure that's why we keep braving the world night after night to hone the craft.

Oh and in site news I finally got around to having emoticons working. Nothing fancy, not a huge selection, but I noticed some people were leaving smiley faces and wink faces and sad faces in comments and it was bugging me that they weren't all imageafied.

It's a word.

So yea, there you go, comedy update and code update. More tomorrow on how the gig goes tonight.
