Da Jester

29-05-2010

Grabbed a little painting time this weekend, finally. The usual rush of social life and work life and comedy had consumed most of the spare time that could be given over to a little bit of painting. But, despite having plans for later in the evening, I was able to get some "Jester" time.

No not that sort you filthy bastards.

Progress on the painting is going good. As you can see from the photos below.

The pair of them look fairly well side by side. Now that I have both of them done I can start to work on the background of the overall image.

Been reading a few art books lately and seen a new technique that I might try on the next painting. But for now I reckon this one is going along okay. I might do some minor touch-up work once the background is painted in, depends how it looks in the end.

Ever the tinkerer am I.

The overlap of the heads.

The overlap of the two heads has a strange little thing going on. Depending on how you look at the canvas it seems that either the dark brown bull is the one coming over the light brown or vice versa. Might look at doing a few more paintings that way just to see how they turn out.

After all, three blank canvas are sitting in the spare room waiting to be destroyed. It's all learning.
